Jerome, Arizona

I recently took a trip to Jerome with my mom, step-dad and friend Kristen and have some photos to share :) 

Jerome is one of my favorite places to visit here in Arizona. The little town is so old and has a ton of history behind it! If you're ever in the neighborhood I suggest checking it out!

I totally want to stay at this hotel! It used to be a hospital and it was one of the last buildings built in Jerome (1926). It's been on TV for its supposed hauntings. Some rooms are closed to the public and people claim to hear noises from those rooms. They have a guest book in their lobby and flipping through it you see a lot of people writing about cats... there are no cats in the building. Hmmmm...

This building that has no hope anymore used to be a jail cell I'm guessing. I've been inside this before but it's fenced now since it's about to collaspe. Written on the wall says "it was more fun in hell", not sure if that goes with the history or if it's newer, but I do know it's been there for years. I can imagine Hell being more fun, that bed doesn't look very comfy :p

Thrift store finds

Lately I have been obsessed with dishes. I have no idea what it is but I can't get enough of them. I love going to the new goodwill that just opened and salvation army to hunt down some cute ones. Yesterday I might have gone a little too crazy ;) I brought home nine dishes total!! Here are a couple photos of some :) The star bowls are from target in the one dollar section!! I just made several orders so I can put together some small gift items

I need YOUR ADVICE... PLEASE!

I have been thinking about buying a sewing machine. I don't know the first thing with it comes to sewing! I've watched some YouTube videos and it still seems complicated to someone who has never used one and never seen someone use one in person. I am in LOVE with the way sewing and scrapbooking combine. I've been drooling over layouts with sewing on them! Anyways, I need to know if this baby would be worth it and easy for a starter. I want something I can grow into and have something that will last. I know 100 stitch patterns might be too much for me but I don't want to buy one and wish I got one with more. If any of you are pros at these machines please let me know what you think about this machine and if it would be a good investment. I don't even know what a bobbin is or does! I am this new to sewing LOL! Any comments and advice would help and I would truely appreciate it!

Home Good Finds

Back to share with you the rest of our home good finds. :)
Here's a couple of nesting tables we got for $79.99 for the set. We have been looking for something to put the stereo on and to put against this wall. Love the color!

I had to get this cute little white vase, I love the shape of it!! Makes the stereo look a little better haha... maybe? It was $9.99.

I showed a sneak peak of this print in the last card post I put up. It's the new cat bed! Finally one with a nice print. It's sad that most pet beds are ugly. I like how you can now purchase covers online that are stylish. But we got lucky finding this one for $19.99. Love how we can take the cover off and wash it too.

I think she likes it :)

And he seems to totally pass out on it for hours haha.

Oh, and the tables are coming along, but it started raining about 10 minutes after I started to work on them agian :( Hopefully tomorrow will be better because I want to get them done! :)

Organizing on Wednesday: Craft Room Home Good Finds!!

My boyfriend and I made our first trip to Home Goods on Monday. I can't believe we've never been there before!! Talk about serious A.D.D. in that place! We went in just to look and see what it was about, and came out with 9 items! Here are 3 things Ash got me for the craft room!!

This lovely Paris box! I love the colors and I've notice I'm starting to go with blue and turquoise for my color choice in the room... for some reason I love everything blue. I think I'm going to use this for my Slice Machine. Right now its in a metal basket and collects dust if I don't cover it. So this would be perfect! And it was only $9.99!!

I HAD to get one of these magazine holders. There were two of them and I was debating on getting them both, but the other one was chipped so I just stuck with the one. I love the color and it is perfect to hold my books and magazines! It was $29.99! I think its a great deal. I know Pottery Barn sells something like this and I can't remember the price... probably ridiculous though (not hating, just some things are over priced there). And they only come in neutral colors. Can't wait for it to hang in the room! The walls are bare :(

And last... the cake stand!!! I found one that I fell in love with on Etsy but it sold! I was so happy to run into this one. Even though it looks completely different in every way, I still love it. The shape of the plate is different and the color.. well is perfect, even has some brown distressing :) I plan to put it on my desk whenever I get one! It was $16.99 -perfect!!!

A Day At The Park

So I've heard about how people put these devices on gas pumps that steal your card number once you swip, and apparently it is true. I got gas before my camping trip and a few days after we got back my checking account was empty. Someone in Palm Springs CA when to an ATM and cleaned out my account. I guess some ATM machines don't require you to use your pin number in order to take out money, it will only ask for your zip code, so when you get gas and have to put in your zip, the machine will track that also. They are putting these card readers on RedBox also. The ATM that they went to was a Chase ATM... I heard Chase was great, but I think its completely insane on how you don't need a pin. INSANE! Especially knowing how basically anyone can get your zip code... I mean stores ask for your zip all the time, so what if the store clerk writes down the card number and security number and also gets your zip? BAM! Now your account is empty. Not too smart on their part, pin numbers were invented for a reason! These card readers look like a part of the gas pump, I noticed no difference what so ever, apperently once in a while the part where you swip your card will be thicker, but most the time your basically screwed. Thank goodness my bank is taking care of it, but now it totally changed my worries about using my cards. Am I suppose to get cash out everytime I just want to get gas? Should I stop renting movies just because people are evil. It's sad how many people will steal just for drugs... CRAZY! Even working at Target I get counterfiet bills constantly! They are so obvious and you can even tell the people just want the money for drugs... ugh I'm so annoyed and basically venting lol. This is just a warning to all of you who are good good people. Just be careful! I never thought it would actually happen yet it did, the day before rent too! And just 2 days before mine and my boyfriends two year anniversery. When I went into the bank to talk to someone about it, the guy said that bank alone.... that building alone, gets about two people every day who is dealing with fraud from a gas station or RedBox. TWO people times however many branches they have... and times all the other bank companies that are available! CRAZY! The bankers I was talking to even had someone try getting gas with his card number in New York! While he was clearly at work here in Las Vegas. Just insane! I just wanted to warn all of you and share this horrible story with you and tell you to ba careful!

I am in a military relationship and being able to see my boyfriend again is the BEST thing ever! He is gone right now, not for long... but I don't want the day to come when we will be apart for one to three years :( I just thought I would share this with you all!
