Get Inspired :: DIY Christmas Tag

Hello there! So it's almost that time... Yes, Christmas!
Although it doesn't feel like it here in Arizona I have been trying to get into the spirit with some Christmas crafting. I love cute packaging, and although it can be a little to much for every gift you're giving, it's nice to make those extra special gifts a little more on the fancy side. So here is a DIY Christmas tag!

Here are the supplies I'm using
IMG_1664-001
Grab some scrap white cardstock, any circle design stamp and label stamp, a circle punch that will fit the largest circle stamp (or you can old fashion hand-cut it), any printed vellum (this leopard print is from Hobby Lobby), embossing ink and powder (don't forget the heat gun), a stapler or mini attacher, a hole punch, a star punch or a different shape if you prefer, some colored ink, some coordinating bakers twine, a glue pen and pop dots.

1. Stamp the large background design, in the color of your choice, onto some white cardstock and punch or cut it out (I am using a Studio Calico stamp with some Prima ink in the color Rock Moss)

2. Punch a hole at the top of the circle.

3. Next take your lovely vellum and punch out three stars (or any other shape you like)!

4. Take a glue pen and add a dab of glue to the stars and place them on the circle. You can skip this step if you like and staple them straight on (I'm not very coordinated for this lol)

5. Take the same white paper, embossing ink and powder and a circle label stamp and emboss away!
The stamp I used was from an old Pink Paislee stamp set. I used silver embossing powder from Michaels and distress embossing ink since it was all I had on hand, I would suggest a better one though.

6. Cut out the image and ink up the edges with that same green ink if you like. Then place some pop dots on the back of the label and add it to the larger circle.

7. Now add some twine to the tag and you are all set!!

Keeping Track of 2012 :: Sky High + Video

Hey there!! I have a bright layout to share with you today!
I used the Studio Calico November Kit and an addon :)
I did pull some of my own supplies for this layout, and here is what I picked!

IMG_1503-001
The washi tape, sequins, thread, spray, thickers and the orange and green letter stickers are all from my stash.

Here is the making process!

And here is a closer look at the finished layout!

IMG_1581-001
I have seen some layouts similar to this with the arrows going around the photo, and for this one I did get inspired by one of the guest designers over at Studio Calico. I love the way this layout turned out!

IMG_1574-001
I have to say that these skinny white thickers are probably some of my favorites. I love how tall they are so you can still see the title loud and clear, yet they are so skinny that its easy to make a longer title with these if you have to! The October Afternoon letter stickers were perfect for adding my title. I knew I wanted some more color and these bad boys were perfect for that!

IMG_1562-001
I love adding a pop of color to the corner of layouts!

The arrows took some time. I had to stamp and cut out each one then sew each one on. I love the way it looks though and it adds so much to this page!

Hope everyone had a wonderful Thanksgiving! Thank you for stopping by and have a great day!!

Keeping Track of 2012 :: Kitty Love + Video!

Hello once again!
I have another layout to share with you!
This page was made from the Studio Calico November kit plus an addon!
Here are the supplies I pulled from those kits...

IMG_1526-001

Here is the making process!

And here is a closer look at the finished layout!

IMG_1540-002
I've never used this color combo before and I've never even worked with navy blue on a scrapbooking page. I love the way it turned out! This was one of the main reasons I  wanted to start recieving kits... I love the challenge of using something that I wouldn't have purchased on my own!

IMG_1560-001
It seems like printed vellum is making its way back into the scrapbooking world and I love working with it! It's great for layering and for pockets!

IMG_1557-001
One thing I was most excited about for this kit were these feather wood veneer pieces! I wasn't quite sure what I was going to do with them but it didn't take long for them to find a spot on this layout, I love the way they look with glitter!!

IMG_1545-001
I struggled with the title on this one. I realized those glitter stickers were small enough to use with that cute Love ticket and figured I'll combine the two for my title :)

Thanks for stopping by!

Washington Layout :: On The Road + Video!

Back again with another Washington layout!
Here are the supplies I pulled for this layout!

IMG_1398-001
It seems to me I am having an arrow theme for this album lol. I know arrows are pretty popular in
the scrapbooking world at the moment and they sure did get me with them!
I love how something so simple like arrows and add more attention to certain areas on a layout!
And onto the making...
Here is a closer look at the finished page!
IMG_1409-001
I love using these large photos! These photos were taken from the car driving back to Seattle from my Aunts house. I was so pleased with the way they came out. A little tip is to take tons of photos of the same scene. This works out for me pretty well since I am a little picky and I've learned my lesson from snapping only one shot and having it turn out bad. :)
IMG_1425-001
Here is a closer look at the title! I love these thickers with the map print on them! Perfect for travel pages! These Thickers were the inspiration for this whole page! I love finiding inspiration in my supplies. I loved the hints of green they have on these letters and realized I had paint and ink that matched. I liked how the yellow looked with the green, it helped keep this whole page on the bright side!
IMG_1426-001
Yes I realize the photo is sticking up :( I fixed that though lol. I take my layouts outside to get better lighting for them and it was pretty hot, the sun lifted the corner, but thats ok it's an easy fix!
I love those little hexagon stickers. I bought them not knowing what I was going to do with them but they add a little something and are great for layering! I somewhat used this "click" stamp as my form of journaling. Since I didn't add pockets or a place to write I figured these photos and this stamp can do the talking. The photo of my grandma in the car reminds me of when I took these pictures and the stamp reminds me of how many I took LOL.
IMG_1420-001
And now onto the fun little cluster. (I know it looks like it says "his way" but it says "this way" I promise lol). So I really thought that I wouldn't use this badge because seeing it alone and knowing I haven't been to those places wasn't that appealing to me. Once I started to pull all the supplies for this layout I realized it wasn't as bad as I thought and actually loved the way it looks. It ties in nicely with the title of the page. Overall I love how this little cluster turned out. I am pleased with the colors for this page!
What was the last thing you scrapbooked about? Love to hear what you are working on!!
Thank you so much for stopping by!
Have a great day :)

Keeping Track of 2012 :: Jamine + Video!

Hello there! Back with another layout and vdeo share!
This layout is once again using the Studio Calico October Kit
(Roller Rink and the Rainbow Kneesocks addon)
Here are the supplies I pulled to use for this layout!

IMG_1446-001
I love this Love paper! I knew I wanted to keep this layout soft and pretty sinple and that Love paper was perfect for this layout!

Here is the video of the making!

And here is the finished page!

IMG_1462-001
I absolutely love using doilies on layouts! It gives off such a girly and delicate vibe!

IMG_1476-001
I love how tiny these letter stickers are! The sticker page came with two colors, gray and this light blue. I knew I wanted to use the blue ones as my title and this photo was perfect for that! I also love the tab stamps this kit came with and those little dots! Way to cute!! I cut out those heart tickets with my Cameo from a paper that came in the kit, and love the way they came out!

IMG_1473-001
These cute hearts were also cut from the Cameo. I used a paper in the kit that I would have never bought myself. It has paper airplanes on one side and little rockets on the other. I don't have kids so I would never go for a page like that. However, I did love the blue and figured if I cut something small from that page then you can't tell what is really on it! This is one reason why I wanted to start using kits. I love the challenge of using something that you would never buy on your own!

IMG_1465-001
Those little hearts are the extras left over from cutting the tickets out, they were to cute to not use on this layout! The stamped image was one of my own, I love to incorporate some of my own stamps and get good use out of them!

Thanks for stopping by!! Hope I've inspired you!
Until next time!!
:)
