Valentine's Day Card

Hey everyone! I have another card to share with you plus a video of the process :)

I made this card for my boyfriend so I didn't want it to be too girly, however I had a hard time sticking to the

anti-girly theme haha! I know he will still like it :)

I'm not able to give him the card today though since he's away for military training,

so we are going to have a late Valentine's Day.

Keeping Track of 2012 :: Layout #1 + Video

I finally have my first 2012 layout to share with you. I know its already February

but I just received most of the supplies last night..... a month late.

Not BlueMoons fault.... the post office held onto it for waaaaay to long.

Scott was a lot of help, I love their customer service.

Anyways, onto the layout.

I am using Crate Papers for this album, I have never worked with Crate Paper products

before but I thought a lot about this. I love that you can mix their collections for the most part since they keep

the same style throughout their lines. Not to mention I love the patterns, stickers and embellishments they provide. Hope you like :)
(I have a video at the end of this post)

I used the glitter technique from swissgirlDesigns

again.... I am obsessed with this. I love the way it looks. :)

I did machine stitching behind the photos and on the little embellishment cluster on the bottom.

I used a small Maya Road stamp set for the stars (its a baby set, not sure of the name) and I used Melissa Frances adhesive pearls.

I can't believe how quickly time goes by!!

Valentine's Day is just around the corner so I decided to make some cute little cards :)

those Glitter Splatters are a technique I learned over at swissgirlDesigns

Aren't they so fun!! I was dying to try this out and finally had a project that was perfect for them!

I love the way they look and love the added touch of glitter on a simple card like this.

Mini Album- Cali 2008!

Hey everyone!! I have a mini album to share with you!

I used the Playground collection by Echo Park!

I love the bright colors and the fun feel to this collection!

I know its not new but I've been hanging on to it for a while now to use on the perfect project!!

I stitched on each page with my new sewing machine! I know I'm not a pro or anything... yet! lol

But I am happy with how it turned out, my not so perfect stitching gave the mini a fun feel!!

Paper Garland Tutorial!

Hey everyone!! I wanted to share an easy tutorial with you!

Last night I learned how to make a paper garland (I rencently recieved my sewing machine and have been trying new things!!) This project is super quick and easy to make! It is also very inexpensive and adds the perfect handmade touch during the holidays or parties.

Lets get started!

Step 1:

*Select the papers or cardstocks you would like to use. Make sure you use double sided papers since both sides will be showing. I used three different patterns of double sided papers. These are from the Echo Park "a walk in the park" 6x6 paper pad.

Step 2:

*Select which punches or die-cuts you would like to use. Punch out as many or as little as you would like depending on the lenght you want your garland to be. I punched a total of 63 shapes.

Step 3:

You can lay out a pattern if you like or randomly sew the pieces together. The top row the is front side of the papers and the bottom row is the back :)

Steps 4 and 5:

*Get ready to sew. You can use different color threads if you like, I am using white for the top thread and the bobbin. Be sure to direct the thread towards the back of the machine and tie a knot with the threads.

*Make sure your straight stitch setting is on the smallest stitch.

*Run the machine about three inches before placing any of the papers in. Guide the thread without pulling on it.

*Start sewing the shapes in the pattern you'd like.

*Let the machine run about half an inch in between each shape.

*With the hearts I like to put them through the machine different ways so when the garland hangs they face different directions.

*Once you get to the end let the machine run again for three inches. You can leave the thread hanging off if you like or you can tie it off at the paper and cut the extra thread off.

Suuuper easy!

These would be perfect to hang on your Christmas tree, use for a New Years party, a birthday party, Halloween, anything!! I love these since they are a decoration that you don't feel stuck with due to cost! I hope you give it a try!!

I Fell in LOVE and Couldn't Pass it Up!

Yesterday I went to a huge antique store here in Las Vegas.

I went there just to look (that place is usually expensive) but I found some beauties.

First let me share a couple photos with you and we can get back to the mushy love part :)

I loved a ton of the frames and mirrors they had this time around... but they sure are priced

to break the bank!! So maybe next time someone will price to sell :)

This was just too funny... of course I had to take a picture are share with you!!

Now to the good part.

So we weren't looking around for too long when I ran into this pretty piece!

I stood there looking at it for about 10 minutes. Being priced at $165 wasn't bad... at least not for this store! The top drawer comes down so it can be a little desk. It would be perfect for a sewing machine and I just loved all the details. I had to keep walking around though and think about it :)

I found another desk that I didn't take a photo of, it would be perfect for a sewing machine also, and it was 50% off and came out to $90!!!! It needed a paint job, but the price was still perfect :)

So... Still walking around and this is where the love part came in!! Something that I thought I would never be able to afford... something that I have been wanting but only thought I can see them in magazines or on the internet....

An Antique Farmhouse table!!!!!!!

Finding one of these in Vegas is impossible!!! I have never seen one in person! The top is over 100 years old!!! The owner just moved here from Texas and it was recently put in the store to sell!

He refinished it but you can see the age on the bottom and it is GORGEOUS!!!

I stood by it for about 15 minutes just thinking... totally forgot to look at the price tag because I was just goo goo gaga over this thing!! I was also scared to look thinking it would be alot.

It turns out that it was only $175!!!!!!!!!!!

I have never seen one of these things for less than $500. I ran to the cashier and put money down on it so now this baby belongs to me! I am sooo excited! I can't wait to bring it home!!!

I have been looking for a crafting table for two years now! TWO YEARS!! That is was to long!

I am so glad that I waited though since I found the perfect one!!

I just have to say once more that I'm in LOVE!! lol

I will post photos when I have it in the craft room! YAY!

Keeping Track of 2012!!

Happy New Year!!

One of my goals for the new year is to complete a 12x12 album!!

I'm mostly doing mini albums or altering something and thought I would challenge myself with a full album!! So I will be doing a journal type of album for this challenge! I am going to be taking photos on the days something special happens or if I have some journaling that will go with that photo. I usually do minis because I scrap event photos. I've never done an album from different days or events so this will be exciting! I've already started taking pictures for it :)

Something else I want to really work on is posting on here more!!! The 2012 album sure will help with posts :) I need to find more projects to share with you and maybe even more furniture renos to share with you and organizing ideas... (ok so anything I think would be fun to share lol)

Another goal is to furnish and organize my craft room!!!! I know I have been talking about this for awhile now, but you have no idea how picky I have been. I have a hard time spending alot of money on veneer pieces even though I fall in love with them... I have some exciting news to share with you tomorrow!!!

SHKitClub DT Projects- December 2011

Hey everyone!

I am back to share my SHKitClub Design Team projects for December!

This months kit was pretty awesome!!

Gorgeous Prima papers with great colors that were right up my alley!

A HUGE set of Prima alpha stickers that will last you through many many projects,

some gorgeous bling, really cute embossed canvas embellishments plus much more!

Now on with the pictures!!

For this mini I cut three of the papers down to 6x12 and folded them in half.

I cut 4 piece of white cardstock down to 6x12 also and folded all 8 of them in half, I then cut them a little shorter so it looks more clean and even.

I did hand stitching around the front and back (boy do I need to get myself a sewing machine! lol)

I took a chipboard snowflake that was on the cover of a mini album included in the kit and just use distress ink to color it. The stick pin was also included in the kit and I added a grey pearl to it :)

I used the awesome sticker sheet that was included for the title!

I used bakers twine to bind the album and added some little bells. I used small handmade embellishments for some of the pages!! (sorry no inside photos, but I do have a video here!)

Project Number Two... another mini!!

I wanted to use tags for this mini, I heat embossed each page with some white snowflakes!

For the cover I used one of the canvas embellishments (isnt it soo pretty!) and I painted it with glimmer mist. Used the awesome stickers again for the title. The green scallop was cut from one of the Pima papers.

On the back of the cover I made a wish list pocket. I left each page pretty simple. Every other page has a cute stitched and stamped embellishment and a big space for photos.

And the last project... a gift bag with a handmade garland!

I used two punched for the piece of the garland and stitched each piece. Its about 2 to 3 feet long. I used some stickles on a prima flower and glues it to a label from one of the papers and used a clothes pin to hold it all together!

Christmas Card

Here is a Christmas card I made for my Grandma, the front will hold a gift card
so its a two in one gift:)

I used all scraps for this card. I had a ton of old Christmas papers left over from a couple years back that I still love! I believe they are from Bo Bunny, but don't quote me on that one! lol
I did some embossing on a vintage book page and love the way the white snowflakes look on it!
The bakers twine is by Martha Stewart, the stamps I used are from Pink Paislee and Inkadinkado.

SHKitClub DT Projects!- October Kit

So here is the DT project from Scrappy Happiness Kit Club!!

And my first Design Team project EVER!!

I had so much fun with Octobers kit!

The papers included really allow you to make a ton of paper embellishments which I LOVE!

The only hard part was deciding which part of the papers would get covered!!

I also have to say that I made the entire mini and the two cards the morning after I recieved the kit! I couldn't take a break from it and it was so easy to make!

This heart paper has to be my favorite!! And I love the chipboard tag! So cute!!

I couldn't get enough of cutting out these cards! I just love them :)

This blue page is probably my favorite.... do I have to choose a favorite though? hehe ;)

Love the envelope for hidden journaling and these little cards were perfect to make a pocket!

I made the top page simple, you can slide that little tag around! And on the bottom I used the biggest card as a pocket, stuffed 4 pictures in there and 2 cards!

Pretty cute right! ;)

Now for the cards!!

Ok, so this image was literally the first thing I cut out from the papers, how cute is that!?! Of course I used more of my favorite heart paper!!

These cards were so quick and easy to make! I love they way they came out :)

I have been thinking about buying a sewing machine. I don't know the first thing with it comes to sewing! I've watched some YouTube videos and it still seems complicated to someone who has never used one and never seen someone use one in person. I am in LOVE with the way sewing and scrapbooking combine. I've been drooling over layouts with sewing on them! Anyways, I need to know if this baby would be worth it and easy for a starter. I want something I can grow into and have something that will last. I know 100 stitch patterns might be too much for me but I don't want to buy one and wish I got one with more. If any of you are pros at these machines please let me know what you think about this machine and if it would be a good investment. I don't even know what a bobbin is or does! I am this new to sewing LOL! Any comments and advice would help and I would truely appreciate it!

Wedding Layout #2

So here is the second page of the wedding album (brothers wedding). All the layouts look really similar to keep the album looking the same and more put together. If it was my own wedding album I probably would have gone a little crazy hehe. Enjoy:)

As for the embellishments... I loves making them!! Very simple and fast but really cute. Heres a couple pics of what I used and the finished embellies!

Pretty addicting. I'm really caught up on making small clusters or groups of layered embellishments and not using flowers! It's crazy, I have a TON of flowers and had to use them on everything in the past, and now I can't remember the last time I used them... I know I will get back to them in some way... I just like change once in a while. :)

Camping 2011- Mini Album

WooHoo! So after a day of trying to load this album I finally got it!! Something is wrong with Blogger... as usual. And I'm having a hard time loading pics without them being different colors. Anybody else having this problem? I couldn't give up though!

So... here is a mini I made 2 nights ago. I used huge tags I got from my (old) local scrapbooking store. They measure 8.5x4 but I cut them down to 6 inches (6x4). Huge right? I love these tags and wish I can pick up some more!

I ordered the pictures from Scrapbook Pictures and loooove them!! I haven't found good paper to print on from home, but its probably cheaper to order from them anyways and they ship super fast and have a ton of custom sizes and options for the photos! Can't believe I haven't heard of them until recently!

This mini is from our first camping trip together! Just the two of us:) It was fun, and cold, and only if I had pictures from the night we spent trying to sleep on the ground, with no tent, and high winds with flames from the fire putting holes in our sleeping bags haha.... soooo we ended up having to sleep in the car. I'm just glad my hair didn't catch on fire! :)

I used October Afternoon's Campfire papers and stickers, Maya Road chipboard, Melissa Frances pearls, Martha Stewart twine and punch, Basic Grey buttons and I can't remember where in the world I got the cute brads from! Sorry! oh!... and a little bit of hand stitching:)

So enough of me talking... prepare to view 18 photos!!

Pretty cute right? This has to be my favorite mini I've made. Sometimes less is more and keeping things simple helps show off the story (pictures) more.

Table Reveal!!!!!

FINALLY!! I finished the tables, yay! I'm pretty happy with they way they turned out, and it was a learning experience. So here is what they look like all finished, and I will walk you through the rest, or you can just skip it:) BEWARE- Picture overload :)

So, remember these ugly things? I bought them from Craigslist for 60 bucks, and paid an extra 20 for them to be delivered. Not too bad, but I probably should have talked them down. I know oak can be nice, but I'm just not into it. These babies also needed some love put back in their lives. :) (Don't mind the ugly green carpet! I would totally change it if I owned this place haha!)

As you can see they were well used. I just sanded them, which took awhile but it was worth it. I used 220 grit sand paper.

I first sprayed them with Valspar in Labador Brown. Note to self: always buy more paint then they tell you to buy!! Since this was my first project I asked how much I needed and the guy told me one can each... nope... I ended up using 3 cans of this brown and close to using a forth since the top wasn't coming out even, but I skipped it since it was just the base coat.

I like that color as is. Looks really nice and I made sure to use a flat paint:)

I wanted to go for an airy feel though and something softer. Most of the furniture in the apartment is in the brown and tan family, so these are a nice change. I used Valspar Baby Blue in satin. I wanted to go for more of a robbins egg blue but I wasn't able to find anythig like it, of course until I had to go pick up more paint! So it was too late by then. I used four cans of the blue. You can't tell in the picture but the tops of they tables came out spotty (again) since spray paint doens't come out too even, I did alot of sanding after it was dry which helped alot but they are still there. I think I have something in mind for them but I can't tell you just yet. If I go through with it then it will be another post:)

In this photo you can see that I did some distressing. I didn't want to do too much, just a little. So now you can see why I did the brown first, I knew I wanted to distress a little but I didn't want the oak to show through, I wanted a nicer darker brown to come through. So a little bit of sanding did the trick and I got the look I was hoping for. Since it was my first time ever using spray paint I wasn't sure if sanding it would take off all the layers, but it didn't! Yay. I'm so happy I went with it!

Wedding Album-Page 1

Hi there, if you read my last post you probably think I won't be on here for a while. I still want to try my best and not lose my followers by ignoring my blog, and can't sit around being sad all day, so I decided to share a layout that I promised.

If you saw this post then you will know that I have alot to share with you {20 layouts!}. Since I still haven't finished the tables I thought I would at least start sharing something from an older post. I'm not suppose to show it yet since my brother and sister-in-law haven't recieved the album, but I'm pretty sure they don't visit my blog... at least I'm hoping!

So here is the first page!

I used very very minimal embellishments and kept it simple. The Pink Paislee Parisian Anthology collection was perfect for these layouts.

I used Glimmer Mist on every page, and punched out butterflies from the Martha Stewart 3-in-1 punch. The white chipboard letters are old and I can't remember who made them. I picked them up at my old local scrapbooking store in AZ.

So I made a ton of flowers before I even recieved the pictures and... they were way to thick. I decided to go with a simple lillipop flower.. some what. I used one layer of the grey satin and two layers of tulle.

Here is what I used for the center of the flower. (I wasn't lying about very minimal supplies!) I believe I had a yard of the Maya Road flower trim, but worked perfectly to cut apart. I love these little flowers! I also got to go crazy with my newest punch!! Starbusrt from Martha Stewart. I've been wanting this baby for so long and decided to use a coupon at Michaels and now I can't get enough of it!!

Cute right? I had a blast making all the embellishments for this album!!

IMPORTANT UPDATE! PLEASE READ

Hi everyone. I will not be doing "Organizing on Wednesday" anymore. I know I just started it however more important things have come up. I woke up on Monday to hear my boyfriend talking on the phone "Afghanistan? Let me call you back". A place I was hoping not to hear for a while. He won't be leaving right away, but it's still too soon. He was asked to go and not given orders to go, so at least he can say no but if he can't become active by then, he wants to deploy. Hes always been one to go anywhere he can and ask for missions to be given to him instead of waiting for them to come around.

My blog wont be 100% ignored, but I'm not sure how often I will be on here. I know if he leaves then I will try to make posts more often to try and keep me busy. I will be moving back home so there won't really be too many organizing post. Just more scrapbooking probably... I'm not too sure. I still cant believe it. Last I heard he wasn't suppose to go until 2012 or 2013 but another unit needs their help. I'm already starting to worry about him and he isn't even leaving yet. I'm going to hate watching my best friend... my boyfriend leave, and not seeing him for a year is going to kill me. We haven't been seperated for more than a month in over two years. :(

I apologize if you have been enjoying those posts and hope you still visit my blog for updates. I will try my best to come back once in a while. But spending time with Ash will come first.

Since I had those large Making Memories jars emptied from all the ribbon, I decided to put embossing powders in them. I sorted them by color, and I'm also storing my small stamping inks in one. My powders used to just be thrown into a JetMax drawer and out of site. Much better now:)

Back to share with you the rest of our home good finds. :)
Here's a couple of nesting tables we got for $79.99 for the set. We have been looking for something to put the stereo on and to put against this wall. Love the color!

I had to get this cute little white vase, I love the shape of it!! Makes the stereo look a little better haha... maybe? It was $9.99.

I showed a sneak peak of this print in the last card post I put up. It's the new cat bed! Finally one with a nice print. It's sad that most pet beds are ugly. I like how you can now purchase covers online that are stylish. But we got lucky finding this one for $19.99. Love how we can take the cover off and wash it too.

I think she likes it :)

And he seems to totally pass out on it for hours haha.

DYI: Refinish old tables!

So I got these unloved tables from Craigslist for 30 buck each. I probably should have talked down the price, but I was just too excited to have tables I can refinish. They have water stains on them and I hate the color. I simply bought them because I LOVE the shape and saw the potential. They are solid wood so they helps. I am actually waiting for the bottom coat to dry as I write this. The bottom is a brown color, but when it's on the tables it almost looks like a grey which I love even more. I bought baby blue (I wanted a turquoise or something better but couldn't find anything!) for the top coat and plan on sanding a little bit of it down to give a distressed look. I won't go crazy on these with the distessing, only places where people would bump into the table throughout the years. I couldn't wait to make a post so I hope your just as excited about the reveal as I am! This is the first thing I have refinished and even the first time I've ever used spray paint!! Stay tuned!

Organizing on Wednesday: Time to save for this bad boy!!

Finally something I LOVE!!
I have been looking and looking, and looking some more for a main storage unit for the 'ol craft room. I found this china cabinet on Esty, but of course it sold. I loved it and it was very resonable and very shabby chic. I am almost glad it sold now that I think about it, I want something that doesn't fit just one look. I am one of those people who need furniture they can change up because my style changes all the time. So after searching forever and alot of being bummed out since I couldn't find pieces that weren't just MDF and veneer... I found this! IKEA! DUH!

Ok, so why didn't I think of this before? For some reason I was thinking the majority of Ikea furniture is MDF and veneer (which alot of it is). However the pieces that they do have in solid wood are all great! I love some of their veneer stuff too, but I want something that will last longer and can handle alot of moving around. So I'll think of it as an investment and pass up alot of great pieces because of their materials. :( Sad, I know..

Anyways, this is from their Hemnes line. Isn't it great? I love the clean lines and how theres shelving, drawers and cabinets. They sell each piece seperate too if you like. I think the molding on the top is different if you get the set (don't quote me on that). I can just change up the look simply by changing the knobs. I love how something little like knobs can really make a difference.

I'm also being picky about buying something that I can grow into! I think as scrapbookers we have all had the problem of finding just the right spot for something, and then you add to it and run out of room for more. Here is a little chart I made on trying to plan before I make the big purchase.

(Click on the pic to view it better) As you can see I have alot of blank space. Now this isn't perfect and I don't have everything listed but I am trying to somewhat plan ahead just to give myself an idea of what I'm working with. This is just a little something of what I have so far.

Now it is that time to start saving saving saving!!! Kinda sad that Vegas doesn't have an Ikea so I will have to pay for shipping, or drive to Arizona for it. I will keep you updated on this lovely unit and tell you if I change anything up.

Wednesday Post Idea?

So I'm thinking about challenging myself to have a weekly post on the same day for a certain thing. haha. I think it will be on organizing... until everything is organized at least. I've been thinking on what I should do but I've come to the conclusion that I can't get anything done until I have everything nice and organized. My craft room is a mess!! I have been slowly getting things done and thinking of ideas however, I don't even have my main furniture. So as you can see in my pervious posts I've just been buying small things here and there or trying to use what I have. So on every Wednesday I will try my best to share my progress with you. It won't just be on the craft room, it will be on anything that I need to get done. If I can't get anything done for a weeks post then I will share pictures of ideas or anything I can think of.

I hope this will motivate me so I can start really crafting again... it's been a long long time.

Organizing on Wednesday: Craft Room Home Good Finds!!

My boyfriend and I made our first trip to Home Goods on Monday. I can't believe we've never been there before!! Talk about serious A.D.D. in that place! We went in just to look and see what it was about, and came out with 9 items! Here are 3 things Ash got me for the craft room!!

This lovely Paris box! I love the colors and I've notice I'm starting to go with blue and turquoise for my color choice in the room... for some reason I love everything blue. I think I'm going to use this for my Slice Machine. Right now its in a metal basket and collects dust if I don't cover it. So this would be perfect! And it was only $9.99!!

I HAD to get one of these magazine holders. There were two of them and I was debating on getting them both, but the other one was chipped so I just stuck with the one. I love the color and it is perfect to hold my books and magazines! It was $29.99! I think its a great deal. I know Pottery Barn sells something like this and I can't remember the price... probably ridiculous though (not hating, just some things are over priced there). And they only come in neutral colors. Can't wait for it to hang in the room! The walls are bare :(

And last... the cake stand!!! I found one that I fell in love with on Etsy but it sold! I was so happy to run into this one. Even though it looks completely different in every way, I still love it. The shape of the plate is different and the color.. well is perfect, even has some brown distressing :) I plan to put it on my desk whenever I get one! It was $16.99 -perfect!!!

Ribbon Storage!

I have organized my ribbons many different way... left them with their packaging and just threw them in a drawer, stored them in jars and sort them by color, or just toss them in random places because I wasn't sure on what to do lol! The jar one was my most recent, it didn't cross my mind to snap a photo of it so I apologize. I threw my extras, or ones that just didn't fit into a bag... gorgeous right? ha!
The jars weren't much better! It did look nice having them by color... but I couldn't see all of them and had to empty the jar anytime I wanted to take something out.... not practical.

So, I was seaching online and came across this photo of ribbons wrapped around tags, and thought I would give it a try. Its simple, MUCH cleaner and I can actually see what I have.

So here they are... all pretty and in a place they can call home. I have for of these baskets and some ribbons waiting to be put on tags still. I love the way it looks and love how I won't have to deal with knots or buying something twice. Much easier although it did take awhile to put them all on, it was worth it!

Hobby Lobby/Michaels Haul

I got a few things from Hobby Lobby and Michaels. The photo tray, charm and sticker packs are from Hobby Lobby and the rubons, punch and micro beads are from Michaels.... I took the stickers off the microbeads already, but they are by Martha Stewart... clearance!

Paper Storage!!

Paper! Paper! Paper! It's probably the most difficult thing to get organized and to find a system that works best for you. Heres the changes I made!

Above is how I use to store my papers. This is probably only half of what I have, but just wasn't working!! I hated how you have to literally dig to find what you want and to put something back is even worse. I'm lazy and always just threw the papers I didn't want to use on the top of the pile; then they wouldn't be with the rest of the collection. I just always forgot what I even had..

So I changed to these clear paper folders from Michaels (I have 18 so far). They don't cost alot and you can fit a TON of paper in one. I fit four new 12x12 paper pads in one and it still had wiggle room. I have started to sort them by brand and collection. It works so nicely!! I even stick the embellishments or stickers in the folder so it can stay with the collection and I don't forget about them.

I took it even further to put each collection in a page protector I had laying around. Right away I knew I wanted to stick with this "system". As you can see, this folder was dedicated to Webster's Pages. Keeping the papers in the page protectors also helps keep the corners from bending, and best of all... I can keep my scraps in them!! I never even wanted to bother with my scraps. I had them all in two 12x12 boxes and its a mess. I still need to clean those out. I would just NEVER use my scraps because it was just too messy and a pain to dig through those. This way is perfect. I can keep everything together and dont have to worry about pretty scraps never being used!

One thing I would reccomend not using are the Recollections page protectors. Although they are nice... they seem to be more snug then the ones I had laying around, so you can't fit as many papers. I can't remember what brand they are, but I needed more and thought I would try the Recollections one since they were cheaper and I needed alot of them. As you can see I couldn't fit the whole Trendsetter collection in just one page cover. All of that would have fit in the other ones. I didn't want to bother with taking them back though so I will just work with them. Thank goodness I only got one pack.

So for storing the folders... I sold my white JetMax (is that the name) Cubes so no, they are not going back on there. I want to buy baskets to put them in and keep them on the floor... (it will look good with how I picture the room lol). So when I get those I will share that with you. :)

Button/Cabochon Organization- Old and NEW!

I am slowly finding what I like and dislike when it comes to storing every little thing I have. Heres the old storage system to the new and definatley improved system!

Heres how I've been storing my buttons. I had all my buttons, brads and eyelets in this photo box. It just wasn't working!! Anytime I took something out, I have to redo the box since there wasn't enough room.

Even though the little jars look nice... it just wasn't for me. I did store them by color however, any time I wanted to find exactly what I need, I had to pour the whole jar out. It was just a pain and took more time cleaning up the mess.

I really don't have alot of cabochons... as you can see, and these are fairly new so I wasn't sure on where to put them. I stuck them in this little box that I still have yet to alter, I figured I can mix them in with my buttons and see how that works for me.

So I spotted this on PotteryBarn.com and fell in love with it! My mom bought it for me (THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!) and I recieved it today!! Even though I have NO furniture in my craft room... I still couldn't help but to open it and start storing my buttons! Its home will be on the floor, but hopefully for not very long!

As you can see the drawers are a really really good size... it puts my button collection to shame lol. I love it though, it really gives me room to grow!! The last one is empty because when I get my room together I would like to start making my own buttons so I figured I can have a drawer just for the handmade ones!

I still have to put the labels on, but I don't think I'm ready to yet. I want to buy my furniture and make sure everything is exactly where I want it before I start to label anything. I love how easy it will be now to just open the desired drawer and find what I need without having to make a mess and pour everything out. THANKS AGAIN MOM!! I LOVE this hutch!!

Hey everyone, heres a mini I'd like to share with you. I cut the pages with my Slice Machine, I used kraft paper and BasicGrey Curio papers. I went gel pen crazy with this mini!! I also did a ton of hand stitching. I wanted the focus to mostly be on the journaling so I only used two photos. I also went crazy with my Martha Stewart 3-in1 butterfly punch! Now for the 21 pictures!! I apologize some are a bit blurry!

ORGANIZATION HELP!

So... my room is a mess! I am selling my JetMax cubes tomorrow (hopefully she comes) and I have no where to put my stuff haha. Those things were great to begin with, but now I feel cluttered and don't enjoy scrapbooking when I feel cluttered for some reason. I use to have those, a desk, and a tower basket, but since I've moved I've just been using the cubes and it is not working!

Soooo, I need your help please! I want to hear what your favorite storage system is. I would also LOVE to hear how you store clear stamps. I have been debating on if I want to put them in DVD cases, or binders. I know the DVDs will take up alot of room, and I'm scared that my stamps will get ruined in binders. Smashing eachother or something. I wish a company came out with an amazing solution! lol.

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE leave a comment or comments telling me what has worked out for you. I would LOVE to hear about it. I've probably watched a million tour room videos, and still am having a hard time. I have a system with my papers now that I love and it works for me. I just need to buy more of the folders, but I will let you in on it and share pics when I am finished with that. I've started on my ribbons too, yet still have to finish. I would still like to hear how you store yours. Im not big on plastic bins and containers, I know they work well, and I like using them, but then putting those in a basket or something, I just don't like the way they look sitting out.

Webster's Haul and Warehouse Sale Box

I am in love with the colors in this collection, and of course the prints. I ordered the Designer Trim, Fabric Tickets, Image and Phrase stickers, the Desluxe Journaling Card Set, Fabric Robbin, and the Buttons and Twine. For the papers I got, Handsome Vintage, Fashionista, Accessorize, Style105, District45, and Leaders. I also had to get a pack of the Little Whimsies in the yellow hearts.. too cute!

So I've heard about how people put these devices on gas pumps that steal your card number once you swip, and apparently it is true. I got gas before my camping trip and a few days after we got back my checking account was empty. Someone in Palm Springs CA when to an ATM and cleaned out my account. I guess some ATM machines don't require you to use your pin number in order to take out money, it will only ask for your zip code, so when you get gas and have to put in your zip, the machine will track that also. They are putting these card readers on RedBox also. The ATM that they went to was a Chase ATM... I heard Chase was great, but I think its completely insane on how you don't need a pin. INSANE! Especially knowing how basically anyone can get your zip code... I mean stores ask for your zip all the time, so what if the store clerk writes down the card number and security number and also gets your zip? BAM! Now your account is empty. Not too smart on their part, pin numbers were invented for a reason! These card readers look like a part of the gas pump, I noticed no difference what so ever, apperently once in a while the part where you swip your card will be thicker, but most the time your basically screwed. Thank goodness my bank is taking care of it, but now it totally changed my worries about using my cards. Am I suppose to get cash out everytime I just want to get gas? Should I stop renting movies just because people are evil. It's sad how many people will steal just for drugs... CRAZY! Even working at Target I get counterfiet bills constantly! They are so obvious and you can even tell the people just want the money for drugs... ugh I'm so annoyed and basically venting lol. This is just a warning to all of you who are good good people. Just be careful! I never thought it would actually happen yet it did, the day before rent too! And just 2 days before mine and my boyfriends two year anniversery. When I went into the bank to talk to someone about it, the guy said that bank alone.... that building alone, gets about two people every day who is dealing with fraud from a gas station or RedBox. TWO people times however many branches they have... and times all the other bank companies that are available! CRAZY! The bankers I was talking to even had someone try getting gas with his card number in New York! While he was clearly at work here in Las Vegas. Just insane! I just wanted to warn all of you and share this horrible story with you and tell you to ba careful!

My Mom had me pick some stuff out from TwoPeas for my B-day. Here are Echo Park papers from the Playground and Summer Time collections, and one sheet of Cosmo Cricket paper. I've been so into the distressed and vintage look I forgot how fun it was to make things with bright colors. :)

I also got two October Afternoon paper pads from the Fly a Kite collection and Campfire. I also got rubons, label stickers and letter stickers.

Last from TwoPeas I got a 6x6 Echo Park paper pad from A Walk in the Park collection, some die cuts and bakers twine from My Minds Eye, a couple stamps, white gel pen and some cards. :) Thank you Mom!

I got a Michaels gift card from my B-day (Thanks Grandma!). I got 10 of those clear paper organizers... I am way unorganized and those are great. You can fit about four paper pads in them! I got kraft cardstock and of course stamps from the dollar bin!

First I painted it with brown paint then dry brushed it with white. For the top, I used K&Company "Cut and "paste" paper and distressed it with vintage photo distressing ink. I used the Hobby Lobby rosette trim, a stamped image, Recollections bling, flowers and leaves, a K&Company key and a Tim Holtz metal corner. :)

Alot like my "Fall" mini. I traced a die-cut onto the grunge board and hand cut it out. The paper that I used on the pages are from Michaels, just the loose paper, and I also cut some images from the "Cut and Paste" paper pad from K&Company, also stamped some images onto the paper and cut them out. Used pink Prima flowers. Used some kraft bags for pockets, ribbon, and bling:)

I've seen a few of these and thought I would give it a try! Thanks ladies for the inspiration :) I used paint for the background and did some embossing (didnt turn out how I wanted it) and used antique gold rub n buff on the canvas and Prima lace, the flowers are from Michaels, and I used baby Prima roses, sprayed them with perfect pearls and water and burned the tips of them. I embossed leaves in the edges and stamped the vein parts with gold paint. The chain is from Micheals and I added some glass beads on it. The cameo is from arrestedmotions, Thanks for looking!! This is from a kit that I bought from Tuesday Mornings... it was only 10 bucks and you can make 2 minis and a couple layouts. I haven't used bright colors in a long time so this was alot of fun and simple. Thanks for looking!!

I used Graphic45 paper and did Marions (apieceofcraft) large rips instead of my little ones I always do lol! Love the way it looks, used a couple shells I bought from the boardwalk, sand, store bought shells, netting, metals, and put a shell, sand and a mini ket in the bottle cap. :)

The mini is from Basic Grey, painted each page with white paint:) Used Websters Pages and Prima mostly. (I put the inside pages in a scroll) If you have any questions feel free to ask :) I know I don't have a great camera so some things are hard to catch! Sorry!

The book is by 7gypsies, I made the lollipop flower, did some distressing, embossing and stamping, used the black Prima trim and changed the color of the white ribbon. I used Glimmer Mist on each page... not sure what I will be using this for, maybe to hold recipe cards:) Thanks for looking!

I made this from one of those wooden CD holders. I needed something to put my Glimmer Mist in:) I used white, brown, green and blue paint, ocean netting that I bought from Michaels, Prima flowers and lots of metals. Hope you like!

Here is one of the dollar bin boxes inspired by Bona, Thanks Bona! I did a beach theme using shells, sea glass, sand, pearls and pieces of wood. Wish I can find more of those boxes!! lol.
